I have the following:
AGX rear suspension stroke = 120mm
4.5kg, 267mm rear spring
Deflection at static height = 57mm (so need 3mm preload) = 79%
Deflection at 1G lateral acceleration = 120mm = 55%
That's without sway bars, I add sway bar rate for tires that allow more then 1G.

So just 3mm pre load and suspension stays within its range for most dynamic loads. Also the spring stays within the operational range of the spring as given by Eibach. Its a matter of calculating the correct rates and lengths for you application.

By the way @4000gt, shock towers are not reinforced.

If you give 3mm preload you are going to have 54mm rebound travel (from ride height) (actually I took 240kgr in the rear, so it's 240/4.5-3=50.3mm but close) so you are actually off the perfect setup. This would require rather leaving 3mm clearance, which isn't much, but if you lighten up the rear and fit a stiffer spring (for going to the track) this problem enhances. Anyway for lower than 4.5kgr/mm rear spring rates and stock weight it's ok I guess.

Now as far as length is concerned, I'm not sure about the operating range of the spring, I guess you could use down to 220mm with those facts.

Mine are also about 260mm (4.5kgr/mm) and set up according to ride height (I wish there was separate damper length adjustment), which means about 12mm clearance (opposite of preload), 65mm rebound travel and 55mm bump travel.
