Sniper,
I agree with Ivan that doing a swap in the long run gives you a much higher performance engine for the same buck, but I disagree with the fact the 4AC should be ignored. Sure its old fashion stuff, and you will never get any good mileage but carberator tuning and 8v setups are easier for the amature in all respects. No fance electronics to mingle with, yet there is so much to learn from it. Check out http://www.paradiseracing.com, maybe sent an email to Luis, he's not very good at answering but he does know alot about 4AC tuning. He has a kit for sale that bring the 4AC over 4AG levels performance wise (not economy wise). Also he's got some nice carberator setups for sale. But in the end, keep in mind that what you save in costs from a conversion, you'll loose in the end in performance tuning the 4AC. Also keep in mind that an SR5's suspention and rear axle is not up to the task. Also there is a guy in Bulgaria I believe that is turbo charging a 4AC, could be interesting to see what that ends up like... Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |
