How much torque was applied to the pinion nut to reach the 11inlb of
rotating torque ? If you applied 80ft-lb or more to the nut before reaching
the 11inlb, then the crush sleeve is supporting the bearings correctly, and
you should be able to use the pinion.

But if you reached 11inlb with only 20 or 30ft-lb of torque on the nut, then
there is not sufficient load on the sleeve, and you should not use it.
