Ford gearbox

I have decided to re-fit my Ford type 9 gearbox and this time I would like to use both the speedometer and the reversing light switch.
The speedometer will probably involve some sort of cable conversion, has anyone tried this?
Whilst the reverse light switch was fitted previously both of the electrical contacts were broken off, l can't remember if this was a deliberate thing for clearance or just careless fitting of gearbox!
Before l buy a new reverse light switch does anyone know if there are clearance issues with it?
