Knitting a new loom :)
If you are going to use an aftermarket ECU you will find that there are
not so many wires needed to make the motor start and run. You should be able to take a crank position signal from the distributor to the ECU, and with a standard coil, use the distributor for ignition. The ECU will also supply an earth to fire the injectors if you provide a common switched power supply. Other than that you will need TPS, MAP water temp and air temp sensors, all wired back as inputs to the ECU. Easiest way is to make up a new loom, and try and track down as many of the OEM plugs as you can. If your ECU supports VVT, knock sensor, idle-up valves etc, you will need wires for these as well. And finally, you will want an ECU controlled output to switch power to the circuit opening relay/fuel pump. Cheers... jondee86 |
