1985 Corolla GTS Project
Here is my project track car.
I started with a stock AE86 with cut springs and an open diff. I was planning on tracking the car. I swapped in: T3 - Rear Control Arms w/ Traction brackets T3 - Tension Rods T3 - Short shifter Prothane Endlinks JDM Zenki Front Bumper JDM Zenki Trueno Tail lights JDM Coupe spoiler Advan A3A's I was about to order a set of Stance Coilovers but then I saw a silver 86 notchback that walked right by in front of my face pleading me to purchase her. It was too much of a good deal to pass up! My other non operational AE86 plus $1500 cash. DEAL! Non Sunroof too? DEAL!! TRD shocks, springs, lsd, short shifter? DEAL!!! T3 rear control arm? DEAL!!! Cusco Strut bars??? DEAL!!! Illegal Garage Clutch with light weight flywheel??? DDDEEEEEEAAAALLL!!!!! Whining R&P? Awwwww.... It had so much aftermarket goodies that I couldn't resist! Especially for the price! It had some problems but nothing extreme. The BMC Leaks, Whining R&P, Messed up exterior, no handbrake etc. I decided to scrap my red GTS and sell the car so I can put more into the silver GTS. I don't want to but I have no choice due to having WAAYY Too many cars in my house. The new silver cars exterior was in pretty rough shape. Dents and Oxidized rusty panels galore. The interior however was stripped but the dash was in MINT condition! No cracks! I owned four of these cars and each of them had brutal cracks in the dash. Thank You California sun! Unfortunately, I did not take any pics when I first bought the silver car but really nothing special. Just another stock USDM Zenki GTS. I quickly added my JDM Tails and A3A's. While Saving my pennies for a new R&P I sold my Miata and bought some parts. I also gave away my OEM Spoiler to a friend and my Zenki Front to my dad for his car. -JDM Kouki Bumpers (Front and Rear) -JDM Kouki Lights (New) -Buddy Club Spec 2 Cat back -Buddy Club Seat Rail -Buddy Club seat (Black) -Magnaflow Cat -Brembo/Bradi Brake Rotors -Hawk Brake Pads -Goodrich Brake Lines -New Toyota Rear Calipers -New Toyota Brake Master Cylinder -New Toyota Oil seal for Diff I still have enough for a new R&P plus install but that wont happen for another 2 weeks at least. Don't worry I do not drive it that much. Luckily I still drive my dads AE86 around while this one is out of commission. Expect some updates in the future. Plans are simple. To become a better driver with this car. I don't do anything with my life so I give it to my car. Spending $2000 to make a really slow car just slow. |

Its been a few weeks!
O.k! I got my new re manufactured rear calipers, brake rotors and brake pads installed. Installed my Buddy Club Exhaust too with a new Magnaflow cat to pass the sniffer. I also installed my new Aisin Brake master cylinder but I broke it by pressing in the pedal all the way. Stupid but that will never happen again.... I hope. Also I get my new Kouki signal lights, and front and rear bumpers on. I also scored a nice set of Knight sport side mirrors for the FC that will be going in the coupe. I am still waiting for my Zenki front lip though. Hopefully it will be here next week. Spending $2000 to make a really slow car just slow. |
