20V Blacktop oil pressure?
slowboy2 Wrote:...presure is cold 6.2 bar. That is higher then it should be if the gauge is accurate. Has anyone stuck a shim in the oil pump relief valve? I hope it isn't going any higher then that when it's cold & revved up! ![]() |

Your losing some HP from the extra/useless pressure it's putting out and and have a chance of popping the filter or breaking the pump. I don't understand 'first', first what, before the vvti sensor thing? Valve is on the pump body. |

20V Blacktop oil pressure?
Looks like a stereotypical 'low mileage' + low maintenance 20v.
Caked oil crust everywhere. Isnt there a temp sensor in the head that's related to this issue in blacktops? My friend had one and told me about it, but he sold the car a long time ago already. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

20V Blacktop oil pressure?
thanks. i wil look at the oil pump asap.
my oil pressure is now about 7 bar cold. but it is cold here. |

20V Blacktop oil pressure?
Dunno to be honest.. just something I overheard. Many engines have the sensor in the back of the cyl.head.
The caked oil is a direct result of the combination: high engine temp, not enough oil changes. 20v's require more frequent oil changes due to the high temps. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
