2E-TE engine supplier?
This is a strange question, but does anyone know of a place that might be able to source a 2E turbo? I've been looking around for a few months and the only solution I can find is to buy a whole starlet and then remove the engine. I think it would be a waste to scrap such a rare car just for the engine, so was wondering if anyone knows of a shop that keeps a few 2E turbos in stock.
I'm going to guess that no one around here will know of one, but its worth asking. |

2E-TELU's are hard to find overhere, there might be some in Malaysia or Thailand, but they are getting very rare right now.
Why a 2E-TELU? 4E-FTE are easier to find, straight swap in and more power off the bat. "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |

2E-TE engine supplier?
I wasn't going to admit to this just yet, but I might have acquired an ee82. I figured that since the car came with a 2E, the easiest way to get big power would be a 2E turbo swap.
Now that you mention it, maybe other engine swaps are easier. Perhaps another 4age from an AE92, but I figured that a 2E might be cheaper and the car would still be registered as a 1.3 instead of a 1.6 If the 4E will drop right in then I suppose it might be an option, but I haven't seen that swap done with an EE82 before. Also, this caught my attention: |

4age in an ee82 will be harder then any e series engine, as the T-belt side engine mount won't fit without a welder.
4e will drop straight in if you take the 2e engine mounts. 135 hp as standard for a 4efte vs 105 for the 2e-telu. with limited upgrades 170-180 hp is doable. More then that means forged engine, but then the sky really is the limit. I've seen upwards of 350 hp from one. Important is to get a decent exhaust manifold, as the stock one is restrictive on the no3 cilinder, it will melt the piston on high speed runs. 2E-TE engine supplier?
Thanks for the help dude. I think a 2E swap is off the table now, I honestly thought the engine would be easier to find than it is. I haven't had any trouble finding 4Es for sale and I wasn't aware it was such a straightforward swap until now.
350HP from a 1.3 though? The car isn't exactly slow with the original engine, so 350hp must be undrivable. |

I've driven a 180 hp Starlet Ep71, and that was quite a handfull, especially in damp conditions. I don't want to think about driving one with twice the hp!
