Ae86 fuel pump options
I know that this is an old thread, but hopefully I can get some answers here.

I have converted my USDM SR5 to a EDM/JDM MAP EFI setup, and am using the stock tank with an external MSD fuel pump. I don't doubt it's 255lph or close to it. I have run 3/8" (9.5mm) aluminum tubing for a return line back to the tank. I am using the same size tubing for a supply line. The car idles very high, around 1200 RPM, if I recall correctly (it's been a minute since I started it), but revs very nicely. I know that the injectors are a wee bit large, as the motor had low impedance injectors in it when I got it. Apparently my ECU didn't like that and wouldn't start. Took me a minute to figure that one out. So, I purchased some other high imp. 4AG injectors just to isolate the problem. I will be installing the AFC Neo out of my Supra very soon and should be able to adjust the AFR, but am wondering about the fuel pump. If I get an Aeromotive (or comparable) AFPR, will my current pump be okay? I am going to take the fuel rail this week to have it tapped for a -6AN fitting on the return side so I can use a better FPR.

Any info/advice greatly appreciated.

I should add that my present injectors are 235cc, and the stock bluetop are 195cc. This would cause the car to idle high, correct?

Fuel pump will be fine..definately if you use a upgraded fpr. High idle is not the injectors. Might be idle adjustment, idle valve, leak/bubble in the cooling system or water temp sensor failure.
Fuelling will be 20% rich all over.

So what kind of pump would I need?
I have 4agze (1st gen) around 170 bhp. (because of crank shaft pulley).

Would I need a walbro 255?
Can I swap that easy or do I need a special installation kit?
I have no idea - this is all very new to me.

Thanks.

I guess i will go with either a 190 lph walbro or 176 lph from fensport.
At least thats not overkill.

Ah I even found a universal QSP 160 lph - that would be a very good example as well.

I might go for that and its only 75 euros.

@okami
you can use a walbro 255 or a bosh 040 for your 4agze.
I use a walbro also but you have to lower your fueltank from the car to reach your fuelpump
no special tools needed.(krik,sleutels,..)

but like the other dude said - isnt that overkill?
I spoke to other people as well but shouldnt this be good enough?

Ok... Just ordered the QSP universal 160 LPH fuel pump.
Should be more than enough for now and the future as I wont be going too overboard with power.

I might be around 170ish HP right now... So should be good.
