Clutch sounds - squeeking and a boink.
Hey guys,
After renewing alot of stuff on my Hachi I still have a question regarding a new renewing project... I have a clunk noise when for instance putting my foot on the clutch pedal and shift you hear a kaboink somewhere underneath me... its hard to explain but also when I press the clutch pedal I hear a squeek so I think (and my mechanic friend also thinks) that I probably need to fix the Clutch Slave Cylinder... What do you guys think... Also when having the car in neutral or just gassing on the motorway and looking at the clutch STICK I see some heavy vibration... is that normal? I guess it might be since its an old car. Plz let me know - thanks in advance. -DWG- Drift Wolf Gaming |

First take a look at all your engine and transmission mounts anx make sure none is broken.

Well the squeeky stuff is the small cylinder on the right side of the clutchbox (underneath the car).
The clunk noises I still need to figure out... -DWG- Drift Wolf Gaming |

The clunk is your driveline ramming into the chassis. Check those mounts asap before you continue driving the car. Like Ivan said, its easy to do

Thanks NoHachi...
Tomorrow I will go to my friend and talk about it - maybe he sees some time to throw my car up the bridge there... Anywayz I just found out when I drove to get some gas... that when I shift with the stick I def. hear the sound and the shifting gears is also starting to get more crappy this was actually allready when I had the car the first day... (I myself thought I needed a new transmission). So... to be continued. -DWG- Drift Wolf Gaming |

You don't need a friend nor a bridge. Not unless your head is so fat that you cant get it into your engine compartment :-)
A bridge helps for the transmission mount inspection, but those are rarely the culprit. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

My head is a giant like a frikkin Cow mate hahaha but since I am so hairy and agressive people tend to call me Wolfy HAHAHA... oh wait... I got sidetracked there... Today we checked the rubber where the axle is... seems to be moving quite a bit... its probably at its end so I need to order a new one anytime soon! After thats done I will check back and let you guys know if that was the culprit. Thanks again for all the help - I wouldve been lost without you guys! -DWG- Drift Wolf Gaming |

Mux also suffered from the Boink sound when the rubber was worn out...
