It was the first time i saw the old style Toyota logo on the car, and i'm happy i chose for it, it looks way better then the modern logo which was on first! Smile

i liked the way how it looked back then.
So much that i wanted back in that same style Smile

I need to buy some arches, but i'm waiting till the yen drops a little bit more.

slowly i'm getting somewhere.

Today i did a job i was fearing a few months.
The construction of the front leafmount is really odd.
A big bolt welded to a plate goes through the leaf, bolted on the other side.
The plate also needs to be bolted to the car with 2 small bolts.

Guess what happens after 33 years, when you remove the rear axle? Banging head

yes, they all snapped, i couldn't prevent it, because you can't reach the bolts from the back when the leaf is fitted... Banging head

Thanks mr. Toyota..

But after a bit of drilling (well.. a LOT of drilling Tongue) and a play with the tap i now have 2 working front leafspringmounts! Big Grin

and my new flares came in from Japan, they look and fit way better then the old ones i had.

Now it's time to find some new bolts, new gaskets, and change the diffs, so i have a 4.3 diff with LSD centre instead of a 3.9 ratio LSD Big Grin.

it feels good to have the mojo back! Big Grin

Which seller did you get your flares from? So hard to know which ones to get, that are an exact copy.
