Finla drive ratio / LSD's
Hi all,
I did try a search on this but had no luck.I was advised that changing my diff to one with a 3.7 final drive ratio ( I think ) would bee more usefull for drifting.Basically giving shorter gear ratio's and making 3rd gear more usable, which sound good to me. Now, I really have no experience with RWD differentials , and never noticed the option of different ratios when seeing diff's advertised, like Kaaz or cusco items. Anyone got any experience with this ? Thanks lads http://www.ericosullivan.com |

Hi,
the gearing will be higher,when the number is lower. 3,7 is the rounds that the propshaft needs to turn,to make the wheels turn one time. So if you will make the gearing shorter,you need to get a higher ratio,like 4,8/5,2 or 5,6 I think that the OE rearend is 4,3,but that depends on which odel you have Regards, Skassa Any fool can go fast in a straight line. TRD website has a nice overview of the standard gear ratios, plus the TRD close gearing sets with and without the TRD 5.375 final drive;

4.7 is available from techno pro spirit. It's not cheap though (329 dollars).
There is a cheaper brand of ring and pinions that sells for 225 dollars but they dont offer anything higher than a 4.1 ratio FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

4.556 and 4.778 are regularly offered in the Japanese auctions, but they make good prices. New ones are around as well.

What do new r&p's in ratio's from 4.3 to 4.7 go for Jon? A lot of us guys have problems with those damn third members on our cars, and I for one dont really trust my old noisy gears enough to spend money on having them reinstalled properly. At the moment a 4.7 (which is a slightly shorter ratio than I am looking for) will set me back 450 dollars shipped (by airmail). If it is possible to get these directly flown in from japan at a good price then that might be an interesting option.

The most common c&p sets i see are used from the 4wd master ace van etc. They are 4.3 and 4.556 and would cost around 150 euro delivered.
There is a 48 tooth crown wheel listed as well which would give you 4.8 ration with your pinion. That would be around 220 euro At the moment there are no new ones listed, but i'll let you know when i find something. They normally would be around 320 euro delivered |
