Oh crap.. Friend of mine who works at the local Toyota dealer, checked for the price of the clutch member kit 41307-14011 which contains those two blocks. It seems that they are no longer available and out of production. So it looks like I'm pretty much screwed.

If anyone has a worn out LSD or otherwise broken with the clutch members still intact, please contact me!

Well, it seems that the clutch members are the parts which usually break in the original LSD if anything does break. This means that I have to buy a complete original LSD to replace the current one. Oh well..

On the bright side. my 4.778 final drive kit from SYM arrived! Very nice, thank you! I started to calculate how the final drive affects the actual top speeds of each gear. If using the stock sized 185/60R14 tyres and a rev limiter at 7850rpm, on 5th gear, the top speed of the car falls from 231km/h to 208km/h and on 4th gear, the the rev limit kicks in at 179km/h instead of 199km/h. However, given that I'm considering using 195/45R14 tyres, the top speed of each gear would be as follows;

1st: 46km/h
2nd: 81km/h (~4400rpm=46km/h)
3rd: 119km/h (~5350rpm=81km/h)
4th: 165km/h (~5700rpm=119km/h)
5th: 191km/h (~6800rpm=165km/h)

Very nice and tight! The shift from first to second drops the revs a bit low but first gear usually isn't that much needed anyway when driving on a track.

If you want to calculate the speeds on different gearings and tyres, here's something I made quickly at work (hahaa); OpenOffice / Excel. Have fun.

Well, actually I was thinking of buying a second-hand zenki LSD from TE71Corolla and using the clutch members to fix my kouki one. I already ordered the clutch plates, washers and springs from Toyota some time ago so they'd become quite useless if I went for a TRD 2-way instead.. Might be nicer to learn the car with the OEM 1.5-way first, anyway.

Hmm, I took the rear light clusters, signals, front corners and the front panel home with me and polished the surfaces a bit with some fine rubbing compound. While making a smooth surface for the front Levin-sticker, I noticed that the "TOYOTA" -text on the front mask is slightly raised from the surface. Have you guys just slapped the sticker on top of it (after removing the white paint, of course) or first wetsanded it down and re-polished?

Oh, and here's some updated versions of the gearing calculator, now with some graphical illustration (anyone remember tweaking gearing in the original Gran Turismo); OpenOffice / Excel
