GTS/ae86 fuel lines...where to get from
I am doing the sr5 to GTS swap. I need the fuel lines. I was wondering if there were any other cars that used the same/similar line (AE92 maybe?).

If no other cars have the lines, do you know of an easy and cost effective way to fabricate them?

Thanks so much!

do like i did.. fuel lines in rubber tubes instead of metal tube. Tongue costs like 20-25 euro

There is a reason why manufacturers make them out of metal rather than rubber when they run under the car. Don't be lazy, do it properly. Probably cheaper too. In Australia it is called bundy tube, and you just bend it to shape, then use a flaring tube to seat the correct fittings.

you can make your own steel fuel lines. If you build a racecar with fuelines going trough the car you can take flexible lines.

You just have to bend them yourselve. Don't forget to make some mounting points. And protect the lines because they can

-rust
-damage trough vibrations

Do you guys know if there is a "how to guide" or some set of instructions to help with the process of fabricating fuel lines?

Thank you.

Should be much the same as making your own brakelines. Try looking for a write-up for that if you cant find anything on fuellines.
I've done brakelines myself, and it's not too hard. You can make your own bends by hand or use a special tool, but if you dont make sharp bends then doing this by hand will be fine. After you get the pipe routing sorted, you need to cut the line to size (using a pipe cutter, often included in flaring tool kits), put the fittings over the line, and then use a flare tool to flare the ends of the line into shape. That's probably the hardest bit, since the inserts you need to use for flaring can be quite fragile.

Thanks All.

If I were to fabricate, would it be cheaper than buying it off club4ag for ~ 100 USD?

I dont see why it should cost more than 100 USD as long as you use the cheaper copper tubing instead of the nickel-tin stuff. You could also get a partsshop to make some lines to size for you as an alternative.. over here some shops will do that for you if you provide them with info about the length and what fittings to use. Then all you need to do is bend it and your done.

Great thanks Ivan for your continued help. I ended up getting them for 50 USD from somebody very local and since this is our first build its good for us.

I am a young student in college and I see many more ae86 and other cars coming my way and thus more chances to fabricate stuff.

However, I have one more question: How do we wire the fuel pump to the ECU itself. Is there a specific plug we need? We have the sr5 rear harness but I heard that you can connect the pump to the ECU itself.

Thanks.

You wire the pump to the fuel circuit relay, and that is wired to the ecu etc.

Have a look at the wiring manuals. Should be easy to follow.
