you do a regular new to you car tune up?
check the ecu, is it factory? knock on the cat, is it hollow? |

Again, the O2 sensor may not be functioning even if it is connected properly, the cat may have a piece of pipe knocked through it so it isn't actually doing anything, or it is just buggered.
These items don't last forever. May have large overlap cams, bigger injectors with a standard ECU etc, etc. |

I don't think the problem is with your exhaust.

Thanks for all your replay's, there really good help and are definitely taking the stress out of the situation for me
After checking out my friends 86, as parrot said the third inlet pipe is blocked off, so I've blocked mine off and its running a lot smoother, especially when pulling away in 1st, I'm going away for this weekend, but when I'm back I'm going to see if i can get the garage to put the 86 back on the emissions tester so i can see if the blanking of the pipe made a significant difference Cheers hopper |
