Installing 4AGZE in AE86

Tach adaptor is usually just a 7mgte igniter piggy backed onto the loom to send back a TAC signal. As for running the 4AGE intake on a GZE, AFAIK you just need to fabricate an upper mount, the manifold should clear the SC, maybe with some material machined off if need be. Or run the SC at an angle. RollaPat over on mr2sc.com runs his 200hp dyno proven 7agze this way. http://www.skynet.ie/~eireae86 |

Port the 4AGZE throttle body and fit a 65mm AE86 butterfly plate.
This should help stock GZE setup flow better. If you use the AE86 intake, it flows better because of less sharp bends. But must mount a recirculating dump valve. http://www.skynet.ie/~eireae86 |

Installing 4AGZE in AE86
hi i am completing the gze conversion now just the wiring to go! wish me luck!
the standard topmount ic wont fit in its orifinal place due to the firewall as it is offset and fouls it badly! relocating is relativly easy - i just bought a selection of boost hoses from the scrapyard from turbo diesle cars and some 2" aluminium piping cut all the bends out and fabricated the required ducting- it cost about 30 euros! and looks good - pics coming soon! Run Free and take a Goodline V8FOURCAM32 MK3 Supra Patchwork AE86 from 4AGE to 7AGE to 4AGZE and now 4AGEU20v suzuki cappuccino mondeo TD |

H7ERO Wrote:hi i am completing the gze conversion now just the wiring to go! wish me luck! Are you still making it topmounted? Thats the setup i like the most, cuz i wont have to fiddle with a frontmounted IC that needs long hoses and a big hole in the front bumper. Youtube Myspace and I´ll Google your Yahoo |

Knud, I know I havent yet answered your other question I will , but reading this kills me:
DONT put the ic at the top. Thats stupid. You ll habve to make a hole at the hood to make it fit which is much much worst than a hole at the bumper. Also as i m sure you know its aterrible loss of power due to engine heat going up straight to the ac drammatically reducing its efficiency. danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |

Well, i really cant se the problem. The IC is mounted on top of the engine stock, and i know that theres enough space for it (look at the picture on the previous page). If i make other brackets and other intake-hoses, i can get the IC to sit as in a stock AE82 SC.
I know that if i want +200hp i need to make the IC frontmounted, but to begin with the 150-160hp would be enough. Youtube Myspace and I´ll Google your Yahoo |

I m the one that cannot understand. If you re gonna make brackets, why not front mount it? Its preatty easy.
As far as I know it wont fit unless you open a hole at the hood but since you say so... Also, its not only a matter of 200 ps or 160 ps. Its a matter of good working conditions for your engine. All cars with top mount ic (lets say the Impreza, or the GTi-R) have their ic installation TOTALY isolated from the engine heat. Thats something you cannot do in your custom top mount setup so yopu ll just end up feeding your engine with hot air. But thats just my opinion, and after all Denmark isnt as hot as Greece  danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |

Installing 4AGZE in AE86
I know a guy who has the topmounted IC in his AE82. He have measured the air at the aircleaner and after the IC. The 2 temperatures were exactly the same.
I found this picture, if it can sit there as it does, im pretty sure that it can sit a pit more to the left, i just have to make new brackets and new hoses. I havent desided yet what ill do, just asking for opinions. Now i know yours nmwisima Have you the stock IC frontmounted, or is it a aftermarket one? Youtube Myspace and I´ll Google your Yahoo |
