Internal fuel pump as an external ?
Does this work ? I can not find info about this. What is the difference ?
I have a volvo v70 internal pump and would like to use it externally. Will it die ? Don´t Think About The Past, Live In The Present And Dream About Tomorrow |

Chances are it will work perfectly inside the tank too. Why external and why upgrade?
For what its worth, most pumps can be made to work with the stock bracket. Just a couple of hose clamps and a bit of creativity. I've seen people using internal pumps externally, so its probably something that can be done. Noisy as hell though, A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

Internal fuel pump as an external ?
I had the same thing (SR5 AE86), gave in in the end, dumped the external pump and just switched the fuel pickup to one that included the fuel pump bracket.
In AE85/86 its a straight swap. Earlier models are 90% certain the same. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

Internal fuel pump as an external ?
Because the noise was unnerving and annoying. We found out we had a BMW external pump mounted somewhere next to the gearbox.
If you're installing a fuel injected engine into an sr5 or other previously carbed toyota, swapping fuel pump brackets is the easiest thing to do. You could even fab upo your own bracket on the original bracket, bit of welding drilling and brazing (soldering) pipes in is all there is to it if you're into that kind of thing. Internal fuel pump as an external ?
I made my own bracket on my Starlet EP70 fittet with a 20v engine. Worked perfectly. Every Toyota pumps will work and even the small one from a Starlet, can deliver up to 250hp. This pump I have mounted here, was a Celica ST185 pump. I had glued the copper pipe to the top plate with 2 comp. glue.
But if you use an external fuelpump, just make some rubber mountingpoints. Project AE86 now begun.
