Kristians track setup

this last Wednesday i was supposed to go trackdriving at Sturup Raceway. (se picture of track)

But my broken diff -I´m having problems getting it apart - stopped me.

On the first of Octobre i´m going to Ring Knutstorp (se picture of track) just 12 kms south of me, for a whole day´s trackdriving with the Swedish honda Club.

My drift set-up is not that big in difference from the new track set-up.


Here are the differences:

Drifting set-up !

Front suspension: Coilovers to 0 percent (as soft as possible)
KÓNI´s set to SOFT

Rear suspension: KONI´s set to 85-95% stiffness
Twin swaybars installed & adjusted

front tires: TOYO T1-R 195/55-14, semi R-rated
front rims: 6,5 x 14

rear tires: TOYO Cleanproxes, 174/65-14, studless snowtires
rear rims: 6,5 x 14

Track set-up !

Front suspension: Coilovers set to 65% stiffness

Rear suspension: KONI´s set to 55% stiffness
twin swaybars still installed, but bolts loosened

front tires: TOYO R888 185/55-15 R-raded with Supersoft compound
front rims: 7 x 15

rear tires: TOYO R888 215/50-15 R-raded with Supersoft compound
rear rims: 8,2 x 15

Damn, those new toyo tires should be something. The old tires they are replacing were renowned for their durability on track. Let me know how you like them.

A wheel to steer the front of the car

Doesnt this make the front re-act alittle to slowly??? or is that how you want it in drifting. I would have throught you would want about 45% stiffness so that the front isnt always absorbing all the bumps and changes in the corners. Cause being stiffer would allow better steering response wouldnt it? Confused

Kir:

T1-R is a high performance STREET tire.

R888 is an R-rated racing tire with thread.

Differences" should" be A LOT !

Although i dont know yet.

These Toyo are awesome. They have better grip as racing slicks!!! We are racing on kart tracks (we don't call it so, but I think its AutoX). I use GY Eagle F1 GSD3 - we were very competitive until one of our competitors bought them. Now we are 3-4 seconds behind. Even in wet (F1 very good on wet surface).

What are the specs on spring you are using?

My konis when set on soft seting could not damper enough 8kg/mm coilover springs so car would bounce a lot.

Drifting - best fun you can have in your car with your pants on!
