LSD problem
Kas Wrote:Today, I bought 2 liters of Valvoline gear oil, 75W90, semisintetic, for LSD diferentials, drain out some Gulf mineral LSD oil, and fill it in.
After I change oil, I lift up rear end, run engine, and wihtout any loads, both wheels are spinning.
Try to drift in both sides, and everything is OK.

Thanks Kris, You save to me xxx euros.

Q: Is semisintetic oil good for AE 86 LSD's?

Kas -

did it say LS on the oilpackages ?

if NOT, i´d change the oil to specific LS oil.

& do change the oil one more time very soon.

this is what i did.

I´m sorry sir, your planet has been sceduled for destruction
in favor of an intergalactic highway -Thank you

Of course. Nox time, i'll change LSD oil after winter, it is not to expensive.

Today, when I drain oil after only 2500 km, on magnetic screw was about 2-3 mm of worn material.
A little bit much, but OK.

I change my oil every 10kSmile Engine needs to last my punishment!Smile

*edit* smart thing whenever buying a hachi, first thing you do: replace ALL fluids, coolent, motor, gearbox, LSD, thats the only way you know for sure your car will stay healthy. There is nothing worse then having your car break down and find out they put plain h2o in as your coolent, or used the wrong diff oil, or your synchros are eaten away because of the wrong gearoil...
