My hachi is using oil! Smokin!!!!!!!
Just done the pheasant plucker in mine Kipsy, exactly the same 1 litre oil used ! Did i see a thread from you about speedometers ? Have you done the Type 9 gearbox conversion thing ? I have and it's nice to know another 'box is only gonna cost about 40 quid. Not strictly legal under the rules but next year..... Smile

My car is leaking oil onto the exhaust manifoild as well...

Some friends of mine also thinks that I need a vent sealing (not sure what the english term is) Basically it means that the vents are letting oil through and there is a lot of smoke of the exhaust.

So it uses quite a bit of oil... probably refilling 0.5/1 litre every week.

Don't have the funds to get it fixed right now, but I'm sure gonna ASAP Smile

Just get them from toyota.. they wont be cheap, but they wont cost you a fortune either. Not exactly an ebay item I think.

Im running the standard box but using a 4.8 cwp! The speedo drive keeps breaking and am loosing a lot of oil so I have sealed it up with silicone (only for track days officer) I just wanted something to give me some idea how far I have been for regularity sections etc! My diff would put the standard speedo out of calibration anyway!
Ive got the Malky rally this sat then hopefullyt the cilwendeg rally the week after! Pleasure!

There was this guy in finland who sold old cusco racing speedo drives that where made to work with 4.7 final drive ratio's...might be worth checking out.

4.8 is great! Needs a taller first though as almost on the limiter around every hairpin/90. My car is pretty flat if i use 2nd due to 4-1 manilflod and alloy flywheel loosing me some bottom end torque! Ive heard getting the 4age ECU reprogrammed will give it a bit more mid-range? What engine mods have you done to yours?
Im thinking about using a kit car/motorbike electronuic speedo??????

Just air filter, exhaust and manifold. I only used a different exhaust and manifold because it was cheaper than buying standard Toyota !
With the Quaife box I found 1st was too tall, 38mph @ 7500 rpm (I think a 4.8 diff. would lower this to around 34mph) and a smell of clutch ! Also hopeless for hill starts and possibly a bit too noisy for road rallies being straight cut Huh Much quicker through the gears though...
Have you thought about using a trip meter with speedo or what about one of the sat speed camera locators, they have a very accurate speedo.
