New server

As you might have noticed: the server is getting slower each week.
I've been busy getting things together for a few months now. A new server had been installed this weekend (just before queensday ) and I will try to get stuff over to the new server asap.

As far as I've tested the server should be atleast five times faster, but probably due to having more resources it will be a bit more.
The old server will be removed and sold for cash which will return into the aeu86.org cash-register.

I'll let you all know when the move will happen

Edit: oh, and the P4 sticker is fooling you. It is a used casing, the server runs on an AMD. >

I think the first: new server is not running the forum yet.

Edit: to give you an idea, I've attached two picture of the cpu load. Normally a webserver will rapidly degrade performance over 50%, lucky enough we are a bit steady around 20 to 25 percent over the past month.
However: if you look at the day graph you see a lot of peaks reaching 50% once in a while.

Bad work you mean.
I've just made a big boo-boo with the server tonight and it is not repairable.
I'm going to collect it on thursday and reinstall the machine. Hopefully it will go smoother this time.

Right. Took me not so long to reinstall it, but I didn't have the time to put it into the datacenter and move all stuff to it.
Anyway, last week I placed the server into the rack again, made sure it made backups each day

Tomorrow evening (probably around 23:00) I'll copy everything to the new server and switch the servers. It could be possible the servers are unreachable, but I recon it won't take much longer than 10 minutes.

New server is up and running and you probably will notice th speed increase.
