Driveshaft diffraction angle/ need help
Do anyone know if the driveshaft has a constructive diffraction angle? Or ist the gearbox input shaft on the same lever as the differential axle.
The point is I have swapped the engine to an F20C and at the moment this angle is about 3,5°. I have doubts that any driveshaft withstand the load!! |

Driveshaft diffraction angle/ need help
normally it should be around 3°, don't know for sure what it is on AE86s though

CSM Wrote:Do anyone know if the driveshaft has a constructive diffraction angle? Or ist the gearbox input shaft on the same lever as the differential axle. You didn't take into account the downward slope of the driveshaft to the rear end, due to the chassis design & suspension setup typical of these cars when lowered. Typical AE86 motor sit's at 3.5-4 deg nose up. Driveshaft (1-piece) is around 2.5 degrees. So if you match the 3.5-4 deg nose up at the diff you have working angles of around 1-1.5 deg for the u-joints. Which is well within the safe margins. Andrew |
