Which is this housing? Do you have a photo?
If you mean the plastic housing between radiator & ventilator you don't need it. The shroud 16712 in the drawing is not applicable for my car... http://www.mobisux.com/album/data/500/8196shroud.JPG Andrej |

I would like to have it.. how else can i bolt the radiator into the bay?The radiator uses 2 stands (pins) downside and 2 plates on top - to fix it in the bay. This is the VAZ radiator in AE86 bay but you can see clearly the top plates. |

Apolan, if I write my vin in EPC, and search for radiator I find the picture I posted.
Then I click on the part 16712 to see it's part number and epc says "not applicable". I don't have it; the same was with catalytic converter for e.g. So my model didn't came with that part. If you see explanation 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the picture: #1 means, that the shroud is applicable for cars with cooler (I think cooler in this case means air condition system)... Andrej |

Quote:can somebody please explain how does teh lamel-type fan work? You mean - stock AE86 fan ? There is a silicone "clutch" in the aluminium body. The alternator belt powers water pump also and when this "silicone clutch" works (i.e. when the temperature in engine bay raises) - the fan works also. Thanks God - because when my car crashed - the original water radiator was folded over the fan but I still have good water pump... |

HUGE UPDATE
the engine fired for the first time in 7 or 8 years! its amazing, i just love toyota. wired it up and started, it fired in a second! after 8 years sitting in a garage! tnx to croatian hachi friends (kas, hrc, zax, bitumen?) who let me copy all the wireing from their hachis.. for the first time i have seen another hachi. =) anwayz the engine seems to run nice and smooth, though its a bit loud since i have only fitted the headers yet. revving her up to some 3000 rpm seems very lively (and very loud - fire bangs on lift-off =)). so not very far from the happy end now.. just have to get front shocks fixed and some othe little things.. im sooo happy! |
