TPS for carbs
Has anyone any ideas about fitting a throttle position sensor to a
set of 45DCOE Webers ?

Weber do a kit of course but it puts the tps on the wrong end as
my inlet manifold aligns the carbs very close to the front water
outlet on the head, too close for the weber tps to be fitted.
Fitting a tps on the other end ensures it would need to turn backwards and
I would really like to keep the 4 wire Toyota one.

I have tried an AE92 smallport water outlet but there is not enough clearance
does anyone know if the AW11 MR2 water outlet is any different ?

Thanks

Something that I don't understand is why you need a tps in the first place?
If you want to run carbs you better remove all the electronics and use an MSD or a 4k dizzy.

Slightly controversial I guess but my plan was to use all the parts I already
have to make some throttle bodies out of the carbs.
I have the complete kit for the carbs including fuel pump and distributor
but after playing around with a programmable ecu I realised how simple
it would be to tune itb's.

To be honest I should sell the carb set-up and buy 20v itb's etc but I
have everything here already and it all fits together, fuel rail included.
Just that darned tps stopping me Sad

If you want to go itb buy some Jenvey and sell your Weber ;-)
Jenvey itb have dcoe bolt patern so basically you can use all your actual parts (linkage manifold etc)
Carbs are not designed to be used for throttle bodies only, they don't work very well for that purpose.

If I went the Jenvey route I would likely still have the same problem.
Not sure about carbs as throttle bodies in the case of the 4-age, I would
imagine the issue would be the positioning of the fuel injectors on an
engine that does not have injectors in the head like a 4-age.

Take out the aux venturi and the choke from a Weber carb and you
pretty much have a straight through throttle body.
Might even be possible to tune them with the choke sizes ?

On the Jenvey you can install the TPS the side you want:
See the little black plug on each side ?

You remove the one on the side you want and you install that:

and you can now install your OEM TPS Cool
