gsrturbo Wrote:Dun think u will able to fit the 4a head into the 2T block cause its not from the same series and will not fit. A full 4age transplant will be much easier and straight fowardWhat is needed to be changed to drop in a 4age? eg mounts exhaust... etc As i would probably set it up on carbs. What would the best carbs be? |

webers, but you need to figure something out for your ignition
Because that's not possible to use the old distributor without the ECU, you need to make an old style points distributor fit in the 4A-GE housing (i eblieve some 4K-C parts do fit ish) "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |

The Doctor Wrote:webers, but you need to figure something out for your ignitionWould twin 40 or 45s be the best or would a single 45 do? Is there much to the actual mounting of the engine? with the mounts and bell housing do you have to make up stuff or can you use ae86 or the carina mounts? |

there are Carina/Celica AA63's, if you can find one, it's bolt on
Just bolt the subframe over and the 4A-GE just slots in. Except for the rear axle, most Carina's use the AE86 rear axle, AA63s use the same rear axle as Supra's, IRS system. "It's all about the heart, the people who focus on parts, turbo's and all that stuff...they're just losers." -Shinji Minowa |

engine would fit, if you take the complete front crossmember also.
It'll probably bolt in your own chassis. Rear axle is probably IRS, and that's a big nono on fitment, looked that on Banpei's Carina, but the rear floor is completely different.
