Banpei, Hmm could be related to it when it was with the last owner. But the first owner was mostly active on driftworks but did briefly post here if I am not mistaken. Something with the engine not starting or quitting all the time..

Doc, interestingly enough the engine fits very nicely while dogs car hasn't had the engine fitted yet and the front cut out so they where plannign to put something BIG in there (or maybe some FMIC sortof setup??, purely guesswork here)

But I don't think it's the same car if I read the topic.

No my car has NEVER been bastadised by ever touching that crappy vauxhall motor, the guy sold it before ever finishing the project, and my car was silver when it left japan.

I guess the fronts been cut to allow the engine to be removed much easier.

Huh I never thought removing an engine was THAT difficult. A usual crane lift was sufficient when I replaced mine. And that was with the gearbox still bolted on it

Well it's not for taking a 4AGE out, it's for putting bigger lumps back in. Billzilla did the same thing for his 3SGE install I think, you can put the middle part back in with some reinforcements and bolts...makes it a lot easier to handle bigger engines.

That's my car with the XE engine in it Wink It's not running yet but don't be long. I'll keep it updated in the projects section. You all will fall to your knees when you hear my induction roar and see my in your rear view mirror Wink You can't argue with 200bhp for not a lot of money. Plus I can get any parts I need next day delivery not weeks and weeks from Japan! Win win situation!

We'll see about that win win situaition again when your engine blows during the first test drive... Big Grin Banging head

Dogs Danglies, how much power are you going to get from your 4A-GE?

Totally rebuilding an AE86...

Probably around 10bhp compaired to Doricars XE, but IMO keeping it 4age what its all about, I do like the XE idea becasue of the torquey-ness, and tuning portential, and I'd have a XE over a 4agze.

I'm going to keep the engine stock for this year, and see how I get on, then strip it down and re-build it for the 2007 season. Ultimatly hoping for around 190bhp at the fly, at so obseane amount of revs too.
