Upgrade Brake Master Cylinder
Hi,

One more technical question... I think the hachi's braking power isn't very good (20 years of development since 1985).

Anyone ever changed the OEM brake master cylinder for one with bigger piston diameter?

It's worthless?

What's the best to fit?

Thks

Hey mate,

I've been thinking about that aswell. I know a mate of mine changed the BMC on his DeLorean for a double membrame one effectively doubling the effectiveness and it made a BIG difference. Then again on the DeLorean the front brakes are way to small to stop that big heavy monster so the extra force you can excert on the brakes helps.

I have no idea what BMC we could use though...

I have one - 1" bore (vs 3/4 of AE86 one) but a little shorter. I didn't calculated the capacity.

Will it fit in the place of a hachi's brake cylinder? I'm sure the brake lines would have to be changed a bit but if it will fit normally then it shouldn't be to much work to try.

Strange that an AE82 needed a bigger brake cylinder..

The pattern seems the same, the car was AE82 1.6 4A engine (not 4AGE).
