Where is located lambda on ae86
Ehm...cant help you out with pics, but I can try to explain.
The auxiliary air valve is a wax type thermostatic valve that allows air to bypass the throttle plate when it's cold. Then when the engine warms up it closes and the idle drops to normal value's. This explains the typical high cold idle speed of 4AGE cars. This valve is located on the underside of the throttlebody, you cant really check it's operation easily, but you could plug the bypass hole and see if the idle drops. You could do this with your finger...just run the engine with the airfilter pipe off and put your thumb over the big hole in the bottom of the throttle body. There are 2 small water lines going to the valve from behind the waterpump, when these are clogged the valve and manifold dont warm up properly and will stay open for too long. This could also be worth checking out.. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
