To NoHachi:
When I look at LEDA or GAZ, they don`t have suspension kits directly for AE86. I can not imagine it would be cheaper to produce it for unique order. Even if so, I have no clue, how to specify it. ..keep on searching ideal solution. Thanks anyway. |

You don't know what comes with the kit etc...buy all the stuff from T3, add shipping and taxes, and you end up with a about the same price, but crap AGX shocks (but then again..as a drifter, who cares about quality anyway if it isn't needed)
Develloping a really good kit takes time and money..OK if you are working on your own car, but less so if you are company and have to recuperate these costs. Dave from leDA, has since moved to GAZ..these should be good quality too and a fair bit cheaper ...Think Irishtwincam has the hookup on those. If you want real quality I can try and arrange something here with intrax..they make their own aluminium monotube shocks and will do a complete setup for around 1500-3000 Euro's, depending on whether you want 1-2-3 or 4 way adjustables. Proflex should be around the same, maybe a bit more expensive. Any of them (LEDA,now GAZ, Intrax or Proflex) is LIGHTYEARS ahead of T3 in terms of quality and true racing pedigree A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

T3 is not top-end company, they have good (looking) products at affordable prices. If you use their coilover setup (for example) - you can fit KONIs or whatever you want - and the price will be lower than fancy setups. |

Euhm...i don't know which ones you mean..but I see prices of 1500$/damper or 300$/shock for a conversion to dual adjustable..add to that the prices of koni's+decent coilovers and you are down for at least the same amount or more...and then you have crappy dual tube koni's. (300+120)*4=1680$
The comparison I was trying to make was the price of the T3 setups you call affordable..Order the complete set (inc struts) for the front and rear and it will cost you around 1200-1400$, lets say 1500inc shipping, add to that a 30% import tax of 500$ and you are down 2000$.. i'm just saying that for that amount of money you could have a true quality setup, not that you actually need it. And yes..compared to these high end shocks..the koni's are crap. They are comparable to the 1500$/shock koni's. (meaning intrax, proflex and ohlins) See for eg this site: http://www.intrax-suspension.eu/?lang=EN Its terrible dunglish but more up to date then the outdated US site. You prefer the price or the performance? You would have a good market if you can deliver full front and rear coilovers for 7-800E inc strut housings and shortening etc..Put me down for a set.

They work. Ah, they are cheap and not so fancy ... I understood That is the reason that I don't believe in so called "good market" - when people buy the badge, not the product. They just can say "I want LEDA in 3X price because they are F1 tech" - that doesn't means that LEDA equipped AE86 will perform better than T3 one on the street. Maybe is so important to have 40-way adjust instead of "just" 4-way ? Even if we use just 2 of them ? And we still want to pay $1000 more for feature that we will never use ? |

We're not understanding each other...
There is no problem with T3 except their price once you add shipping and taxes. Thats not something they are to blame for. Once you add those costs, the LEDA, Intrax etc setups made locally are exactly as expensive as the T3 ones, but are in a different league performance wise. Thats all I'm saying..If you are spending Intrax money, might as well get Intrax quality. And you are wrong about the performance part..a good quality mono-tube shock will dramatically outperform dual tube koni's on the street. On the circuit the difference is far less dramatic initially, but again gets greater as temperatures rise. The point is not in the X-way adjustability, but in the quality of the materials and manufacturing. It allows a FAR more comfortable ride that is still quicker then the koni's..the suspension just follows the road better. You really can't compare these to koni's if you haven't diven in a car equipped with one of these. The difference is dramatic and makes for an allround more useable and fun car.
