RX7 brake adaptor brackets -
Does anyone know where I can get hold of the files for the brackets that Hen has so kindly developed.
Speaking to a chap who will potentially be able to make a set for me but he would like the cad files (already supplied him the available diagrams etc) If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated. Many people say that the surface area of the picton of the AE86 is just as large as the twin pistons of the FC3S.

Rx7 caliper is 4 piston - and also alloy so despite their size they are quite a bit lighter than the small stock cast caliper.

Why is it bad that the piston area is the same as the original caliper?
You have to balance changing of piston area with disc size to get the brake balance you want (ignoring bias adjustment via balance bar or pressure regulator). If you want to keep the same rear brakes and fit larger front discs then you should reduce the front piston area. If you want to increase the front and rear disc sizes you might want to keep the piston area of the front caliper the same. The RX7 4 pots are alloy so are lighter and also you should get better brake feel (they should be stiffer but don't assume an alloy 4 ot is automatically stiffer as aluminium is not as stiff are steel) and pad wear will be more even/reduced. |

Chrisso, thanks for the offer - Aussie Fan kindly hooked me up.
Need to see if I can buy these now as the machine shop I was intending on using have said they dont think they can make them. Hopefully Aussie Fan has a spare set. http://www.eight-six.co.uk - read the blog! UK AE86 Forum - http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/index.php?m...ghtsixcouk |
