street quiet exhaust ?
Not sure WHAT you can get in Europe, but there are 3 companies in Japan that make VERY nice street exhausts for the AE86. All use middle resonators to keep sound levels appropriate
The first company is Fujitsubo. They make 3 separate exhausts for the AE86. Large muffler single tip - about 79000 yen Large muffler dual tip - about 81000 yen Smaller muffler dual tip - about 81000 yen The 2nd company is Kakimoto - about 79000 yen Single tip full muffler Finally, the newest I've found is Brave - (about 40000 yen) - this is the one I currently run on Surreptitious my 165hp 4AGE powered AE71 I use the Brave on my car because it is a full exhaust, yet the piping is sized @ 60mm, the Fujitsubo use 50mm piping, and the Kakimoto is 60mm, but the Kakimoto and Fujitsubo are about $300 more then the Brave Dan - You can | .... I use underdiff piping, and no cat. Instead of cat, there is a middle can.
No resonator in between. What you guess will happen if i put resonator between muffler and middle muffler ? |

It wil become quieter. Resonators make a big difference

Resonators stop the pulsing effect of the header (not a bad thing) , mufflers act as an extension. I.e. if you have a muffler/cat right at the end of the header it adds to the length of the secondaries/collector. A resonator will cancel this effect. Thats why you often see a resonator at the end of a custom header.
FWIW the stock system without CAT is muffler, resonator, muffler too. AE86 ex-daily |
