Car hesitates between 2500-2800 rpm
ZDoman Wrote:if the EGR system is not working, and your air intake or exhaust system is not original then its a common thing on AFM engines, because the EGR is recirculating some unburtn exhaust gases at this point, which can occur in lean mixture when not-working.. I removed rusty EGR long time ago Fun is not the straight line! |

jondee86 Wrote:Checked your ignition timing recently ? Checked yesterday, it was almost at zero, so I pushed it back to 10 (with check connector shortened). Fun is not the straight line! |

Car hesitates between 2500-2800 rpm
So what I did:
1) Grounded AFM body with extra wire. 2) Put timing back to 10 Went for a short ride, car runs smoother and haven't noticed any hesitation. I will continue to follow this up. Fun is not the straight line! |

I suggest You check ignition timing from 2000 to 3500 rpm

jonis79 Wrote:I suggest You check ignition timing from 2000 to 3500 rpmI have timing light but I don't understand what you mean: Do you mean without check connector shortened? Which advance should be there between 2000-3500? Fun is not the straight line! |

max_ae86 Wrote:So what I did: AFM body does not need to be grounded. All the necessary grounds (ECU and FP switch) are provided in the plug. Being 10 deg retarded would probably get your exhaust really hot, as well as losing a lot of power. You should feel better pickup now Cheers... jondee86 |

Car hesitates between 2500-2800 rpm
1. Do you checked problem with other distributor?
2. Check timing on 2000, 2200, 2400, 2600, 2800 and 3000 rpm and write what you got. 3. Its not ground problem. |

Car hesitates between 2500-2800 rpm
jonis79 Wrote:1. Do you checked problem with other distributor? The timing will change as to whether the engine is under load or not and also by how much load there is, so the obvious question is how is he going to check it and at which load point ? An analogue brain in a digital World |

Car hesitates between 2500-2800 rpm

Car hesitates between 2500-2800 rpm
jonis79 Wrote:1. Do you checked problem with other distributor? 1) I didn't. Going step by step. Other distributor still needs to be fixed (seal leakage) so I need time to finish it. 2) I will, maybe tomorrow. 3) Maybe not, but you never know with 25 old wires. Fun is not the straight line! |
