under or over diff exhaust.
What is the reason i would like to have under diff exhaust? Is it any better than the one over the diff?

It's only adviseable when your car is lowered a lot, so there is enough clearance under the axle for it not to hit the exhaust.
The advantage of an under-diff exhaust is that is has less bends. Not something worth bothering about unless you have a turbo engine or some high-revving tuned engine. But then again I come from the country that has speedbumps on every street, which makes it even less desireable to reduce the ground clearance.

How much can i lower the car without going underdiff? I was also thinking of going 2.25-2.5" exhaust so......

You see where i am going. Smile

stickers sure add horsepower........ Hurray! But my daily drivers feels powerless, but then again it does not have stickers, unless the GTi badge counts

under or over diff exhaust.
i have seen a 3 inch over diff exhaust fit. car was maybe 1-1.5 inch lowered. i have had 2 inch and 2.5 inch underdiff exhaust, car was lowered 3 inches, it doesnt hit speed bumps unless you go at it diagonally. the only thing that scrapes is the tip of the muffler backing out of some curbs.

but i really see no big gains in HP with either. unless you can feel 1-2 hp in your stomach when you drive.

oh yea if you do go with underdiff. you need short stroke shocks for the rear. because when you raise the car from the left rear jacking point, the rear end will rest on your exhaust. and in certain road conditions the rearend will come in contact the the piping.

Ok, thats some good info Big Grin

I don't really know how much i'll lower the car. Was thinkin' eibach pro springs at first, and still am. But later i wanna go t3 coilover in front and something stiff in the back thats fit to the coil overs.

But since i really dont know what to get, i would be very happy if you guys could tell me what specs on what springs and how much it will lower the car.

I will not be using it as a daily driver so comfort level is not important, nor will i be using it as a track car, since we dont have any real tracks yet here in iceland. But it has to be streetable and still ready for some action. Cool
