One-piece driveshaft

Factory driveshafts are balanced, and any custom or modified driveshaft
needs to be balanced. That is just a simple out of balance rather than a
torsional vibration, and easily fixed.

Given that driveshafts are basically a thin wall tube, the change in inertia
between one-piece and two-piece will be quite small. As you say, the
effect will be hard to measure, and easily surpassed by the effect of
larger wheels or heavier tires.

One of the things that interests me, is that the one-piece driveshaft will
be putting higher loads on the gearbox output shaft bearings. I'm
wondering if anyone has ever found that the gearbox needed more
attention after fitting a one-piece shaft ??
