Use of zipties

I have allways wondered, why anyone would use zipties in their cars?

I´ve seen some nicely done corollas with zipties that I allways had the question in my mind. But since I droped my car the tires started to rub the union of the fender with the front bumper. So, just this week the tab from the fender broke, leaving the bumper loose.

NOW I KNOW WHY THEY USE IT, I thought. Confused

Is that the real purpose of zipties?
