I just re-checked my timing and valve clearances on my 4ac yesterday. if you have a 4ac, the factory timing should be set at 10 degrees BTDC. If it's at 5 degrees BTDC, it should run like crap. Also, make sure you set your idle speed to 800 rpms + or - 50 rpms before you adjust the timing.
another thing i noticed, there seems to be 2 timing marks on my belt, but there should be only one mark that'll line up with the markings near the crank pully (i.e. 20 15 10 5 0 5) when adjusting with the timing light. |
