Howling from rear diff.

Hi

After 2 years tucked away during my studies. I finally got my car out and running again. But the howling from the rear diff (I think!) is very annoying, which it also had before but I notice it more now.

I uploaded a recording of it, so maybe someone can tell me what to do to get rid of it. It might be a bit noisy but it is possible to hear the howling.

I have been told that it is my gearbox, but I seriously doubt that.

All the bearings in the diff was replaced by toyota recently, and they have said that it is my final drive gear set that is worn and need to be replaced. Can anyone verify that, before I go out and buy a new kit.
