Engine oil! Wich one should I put in?
Hi
I´m doing the first maintenance in a few days, so new fluids need to go in.
The issue is that my engine goes with 320k Km´s. When driving the car everithing looks good, the engine rev´s good, no smoking....
I mean, with that distance driven the engine should be a little weared, there should be some gaps, but i dont feel any of it when driving.

But, in an engine that has done that far is wise to use a fully syntetic oil? 0w, 5w? Or should i go with a semi-syntetic? 10w?

We kinda established that 10w40 is okay for hachi.. if you race occasionally go bigger (10w50 maybe).. i think we disscussed this topic in depth once on this forum, you should look it up.

As far as the brand is concerned.. well, Mr. Ichishima, the lead engineer from spoon sports said that oil is not whiskey, so its not that important, still they use nothing but MOTUL. Many aquaintances of mine also pledge to MOTUL...

10w40 is what the 4AGE normally likes, but see also the tech faq about engines:

There are multiple members who have done 300k with their 4AGE engines, so it shouldn't be a big issue. Smile

I tried 20w50 once... I don't suggest it. 10w40 is the way to go. I like using Castrol GTX, not sure if they sell it on that side of the pond. For these older engines I stay away from synth purely for the reason that I've heard that you might get new leaks from synth where you didn't see them before with dino oil. Something about the molecules being physically smaller.

I would steer clear of full-synthetic oils unless that is what you used before.. 5W40 turned my great-running-but-tired old 4age into an oilburner that barely reaches the minimum oil pressure these days.
