Vacuum Sensor/line hook up help.
Okay I am running a pre-model Japanese Blue Top 4AGE and I think I have everything hooked up as far as the vacuum lines and all are concerned. I can take pictures if need be also. But right now I have the two ports on the throttle body looped and in the back of the intake one is running to the fuel rail ( Fuel Pressure Regulator? ) the next to the MAP sensor and the third and last is capped. The car has no EGR 'emissions' stuff on it from what I can tell.

Is that right??

I have seen pictures of other AE86's with MAPed engines and some look to be the same as how I hooked it up but some seem to have other sensors that are ran off the two ports on the throttle body???

Can anyone clear this up for me please. D= Pictures would help as well if posible. I want to hopefully have my Hachi running next week..

PS: can anyone tell me where the other lines run to around the throttle body? Like the Power steering lines and I think there is two more larger lines...

Also so I do not go around making more threads I was wondering if the O2 sensor off a US GTS would happen to work on a MAPed Blue Top? They are both one wired sensors But I just wanted to make sure as my Stock one has the wire ripped out and I happen to have a used US GTS one laying around.

Sounds about right. There will be two larger tubes under the throttle
body for the power steering idle-up, and possibly two for an air-con
idle-up. Main thing is to make sure you block off any tube that sucks
in air when the engine is running. Don't loop the idle-up tubes.

A tube that is not blocked off will act as an uncontrolled air leak, and
any air leaks into the manifold will push your idle speed up.

Don't know about the O2 sensor, but how far wrong can you go with
only one wire ?? Try it and see if it throws a fault.

Vacuum Sensor/line hook up help.
Okay I thought I had it right but.. If I didnt mention Before I am Running both Pwr Steering and A/C both of which have came off a GTS But seem to fit fine. BUT my problem is now. I have confused my self as to how to hook up the vac lines for the Pwr steering and the AC I also have a pic I will attach of three sensors? Do they need to go on? And I think the one to the far right is the A/C Idle up sensor? The other two im not sure about..
[Image: AEU86 AE86 - Vacuum Sensor/line hook up help.]

Also can anyone help me buy telling or even showing me with a pic on how to hook it all up?.. Its racking my brain..Banging head

Also upon hooking up some of the harness I found a plug that I have no idea what it is I will attach a picture of that below. It seems to tie in just under the fuse box but I cant find any plug on the Japanese engine harness that will lug into it. Also nothing on my old harness?? Huh
[Image: AEU86 AE86 - Vacuum Sensor/line hook up help.]

Now Last But not least. ( I hope Crying ) I also see that just after a black square plug with one wire in it ( Black with Red Stripe ) has been cut... Where does it go? Its around the Igniter part of the harness..

PS. Does anyone know where the Wire/s for the A/C would be on the Japanese Harness? I think that Im going to have to splice in the US plug onto it to beable to use the US GTS A/C Pump...

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP!! Respect! Crying

PS and A/C are quite scarce around Europe and even if people have it on their cars they remove it most of the time. Wink

I believe the round connector is the engine testing terminal.

And I think the one to the far right is the A/C Idle up sensor? The other
two im not sure about..
The solenoid valve on the LEFT is typical of the type of valve used by
the "idle-up computer". Connected between a clean air tapping on the
engine air intake and one of the small tubes (that you have looped) on
top of the throttle body. It operates to compensate for additional
electrical load, such as rear screen heater, brake lights etc.

The metal covered object in the CENTRE appears to be the injector
solenoid aka injector ballast resistor. It should have three wires and
a round plug. It connects between the 12V supply and the injectors to
limit the current drawn by low impedence injectors.

The solenoid valve on the RIGHT it typical of the type of valve used for
the air conditioning idle-up circuit. No idea what triggers it, but I would
guess it triggers from the A/C clutch circuit.

The car will run OK without the idle-up valves, but if you have low
impedence injectors (<6 Ohm) you MUST use the ballast resistor.

Are you using a USDM headlight/charge/fusebox loom section?

Yah I am. Everything is USDM on my char except the Engine Harness/Engine/Tranny/ECU/Cluster, Which is Japanese.. I also had to order a igniter I had it cross refferenced to a USDM Mr2 with a 4AGZE, I think it was. The plug matches up and all But one of my main things is now My car will crank but there is no spark coming from the Coil... Im not sure what is causeing it.. Im going to look a few things over in the next few hours if anyone knows maybe if there is a wire that needs to be rewired of what...

And as for that square plug with a single wire coming out. That is for the TVIS? So I need to connect that to the TVIS? How do I do this and where do I connect it??

By the way I cant view the pics on that other forum due to having to reg for it and it wont allow any free email accounts..

Also an Update. I dont see a place to plug" Electrical Wise" the Idle up Sensor on the left in the picture I posted. However the place to plug the A/C one is still there.

Shame, because lots of the photos have appropriate arrows etc.

If your headlight/charge loom is USDM SR5 then you won't have anything to plug the idle up VSV into, they are on that loom. That then plugs into the under dash loom which is also very different in a JDM 4AG compared to USDM SR5 and doesn't include the diodes or a seperate idle up computer.

Will drift for food on this forum has just been through everything that you are suffering with, including ignitor issues.

Contact him, though he has gone very quiet and may have topped himself.........
