Ok..received an answer...according to him, the cheaper welding machines are near useless. He recommends finding a 2nd hand machine from a reputable manufacturer.
The stuff that the rustbuster website sells is actually pretty decent..though prices are still around the 500-700 mark. Best bet would be to find one of these secondhand..sadly though, not a lot of them around A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I've seen a few electra-beckum ones on ebay that might be worth bothering with.. but they dont come very cheap.

Shipping is hell on those things...I'm assuming that you mean ebay.de...20kgs is considered lightweight for one of these puppies....

lets say an elektra-beckum or similar quality brand welder with about 140-15o amp max output should be possible for 250 euro's.. add another 100 or so for a 10l bottle and your set to go...the rustbuster ones come with a teeny tiny 2l bottle.
And I was looking for stuff for sale near the dutch border...sometimes it's not that far to drive over. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

You're making the same mistake I made...the rust buster special (larger 155 model with everything) comes not with a 10l bottle but a 10kg bottle. Thats a lot of gas my friend, those things are fairly huge. If you want something you can carry with you, 2kg is about the max size thats comfortable.
