Wheels, dimensions, offset and so on
I have imported a hachi from Denmark to Norway, and I'm in need of
rims for wintertires. As it has already started snowing here my hachi is pretty much grounded ATM. Not good! :-) I wonder what dimentions/offsets and so on are for these cars. (Same for all AE86s?) Should be in the cars registration book (not in mine since it's imported) My car is a Coupê (1984) I'm planning to get 14" rims with 175/60 tires or similar. Edit: For anyone else who might be looking for these numbers, this is the summary: 4x114.3 5.5x14 ET: -9 to +27 will do fine. (original is +27) Center hole of the rim: 54 mm. 185/60-14 Tires Amigaguy |

if I am not wrong offset must not greater than 20. if 14x6j it should be ok with tyres 185/60 I think. I am not really sure if this are correct. Hope someone else can give exact answer.

Does it really matter what size tyres and rims you put on so long as it fits? :S

My CS rims do fit without any problem, however one is front wheel is rubbing to the fender during full right or left steering while the springs are compressed. In my case it rubs against a plasting thingy, but in other cases it might be the fender itself. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

What I've figured out so far is that I need:
4x114.3 5.5x14 ET: 27 and there is one number missing which is the diameter of the hole in the middle... I'm planning to order these rims online and I need to know the exact numbers to be sure it fits :-D I think I'm gonna go with 175/60 to consentrate the weight a bit more. Makes it a bit easier to get up those icy roads. |

@amigaguy, its must be 4x114,3
@banpei, if it rubbed left side of the plastic cover, try to find out. I got mine rubbed and there is kind of design of left side that different from the right side, it is near the front bumper. If you could found what I mean then you need to push it to the inside. Its hard to explain here. 1985 AE86 (ハチロク) Levin - Summer time daily driver |

The inner size what you are for is (I guess) 54mm. But no really problem if the rim has bigger hole in there.
I think that the ET27 will be a little more than you need. The stock GT rims are 14"x6" in my opinion and they are ET20 (or 21...). If you have a lots of snow in the winter you better use 165 or 175 tires, 185 is too wide for the hachis weight on slippery roads. 175/60 is a bit small, 175/65R14 is the exchange of the stock size. I have 175/70 R13 though to have higher tire walls which is good for the snow (and 13" tires are cheaper too). Where do you live btw? Cause you should check the junkyards for old Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota rims, you might be able to find some with the needed parameters. |
