I'm more EFI minded myself..and I think the choice between carbs and stock EFI is a bit unfair. Your paying money for the carbs (at least in normal situations), and if you would invest the same amount in your EFI you would also get nice performance.
At least EFI has less hassle with tuning and can handle changing circumstances much better. The downside is that for ITB throttle response your going to need the usually ridiculously expensive ITB's. People over here charge more for the throttle bodies than they would for a 16v 4age engine. Still as far as I'm concerned, EFI>Carbs...(predictable electrical engineer point of view) FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

How can the stock injectors and throttle body be cleaned and inspected for wearing out? Anyone know a good and relatively cheap way to clean the injectors at home?
My current "intake side" is worse than bad. High fuel consumption, not enough power... Ivan, your oppinion is also true IMHO. I forgot to calculate that if you spend as much money for the EFI system as you would for carbs, it also gets better. |

hey sutter,
There is no better way then sonic cleaning your injectors but that can be expensive. Another option that works is to buy one of those bottles of injector cleaner you mix in with you gastank, poor it into a bottle, put the injectors in the bottle, and let them soak for a couple of days. But it doesn't do as good a job as sonics.. Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

Thanks! Since I don't know any place to make this sonics cleaning and I'm not sure if it will help gaining some performance out of my hachi I'll buy some fluid and clean the injectors myself.
After that I can swap to carbs... |
