Hello,
the kouki axle has a bigger axle diameter than the zenki. There is no difference beween right and left. Hope this helps? 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

Those pictures look healthy.
TA22 should have the same LSD as a zenki AE86 afaik. If the parts in the picture look equally good on both sides, then you probably have a broken lsd, this will cause a lot of 'slop' on the axle. It is a very common problem on ae86 original LSD's, the metal plate holding the gears that the axleshafts connect to breaks pretty easily. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Yes TA22 does have the same axle spline as zenki AE86.
But I´m sure the TA22 axle is shorter because the axle housing of a TA22 is narrower than a AE86 housing. But it could be compensated, because you need to shorten the TA22 axles, from what I remember 5mm each sind to fit the AE86 LSD.# Don´t know if this answers any of your questions... 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |

It appears you are missing a clutch plate, and one of the gears is clearly a kouki model (i assume you tried them on the same axle).
The clutch plates are easily replaced with a rebuild kit (check T3, toyota or Weir performance). The little brass plate in pic 2 is usually not included in rebuild kits but can be bought from toyota (I did once). I might be able to find you a spare gear as I have one or two broken LSD's that I have no real use for, but I'd suggest you look around locally first. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
